LITTLE ROCK, Ark.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Beginning early this year, Kinetic by Windstream embarked on a multi-year program to invest billions of capital to bring fiber-backed gigabit services to millions of households across its footprint. Through the first six months of 2020, Kinetic has enabled approximately 100,000 new locations with gigabit-capable services. As a result of these investments and recent additional network enhancements, Kinetic added over 40,000 net new broadband subscribers in the first six months of the year and completed its ninth consecutive quarter of broadband subscriber growth.
“Kinetic by Windstream is stronger than ever,” said Jeff Small, president of the company’s consumer and small and midsize business segment. “Our fiber investments are accelerating Kinetic’s broadband subscriber growth and equipping our rural communities to take advantage of greater opportunities to work from home, experience virtual learning and enjoy premium entertainment.”
During a year when many Americans are working remotely and going to school online because of the coronavirus pandemic, these faster connections in the company’s predominately rural service areas are particularly critical. Importantly, when internet use soared more than 30 percent in March, our historical network investments ensured we had ample capacity to handle the surge in traffic growth.
Kinetic’s SD-WAN solution helps small and midsize companies manage their broadband usage while OfficeSuite UC®, the company’s award-winning, cloud-based voice and collaboration solution, enables them to conduct business anywhere.
