Windstream announces speed expansion; brings 1-Gig internet speeds to North Georgia
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Windstream (NASDAQ: WIN), a leading provider of advanced network communications, today announced it has expanded its 1-Gig internet service to provide residents and small businesses in North Georgia with ultra-fast internet speed.
One-Gig internet service is available to eligible customers across 15 North Georgia communities including Blairsville, Byron, Clarkesville, Cleveland, Colbert, Dahlonega, Dawsonville, Haddock, Jasper, Jeffersonville, Lakeland, Milledgeville, Noble, Pendergrass and Springfield.

Windstream's 1-Gig internet service is currently available in Lincoln, Nebraska; Lexington, Kentucky; Sugar Land, Texas, and seven North Carolina communities.
With 1-Gig, residential customers are able to access music, TV shows and HD movies in just seconds. Small businesses can make large file transfers, process numerous transactions and backup to the cloud at blazing-fast speeds.
The Gig expansion is part of a larger initiative to bring extensive technology upgrades to North Georgia customers. Through Gig and the recently announced cable upgrades in North Georgia, Windstream is committed to continuing to grow and enhance its service offering to customers throughout the region.
