Windstream Awarded Federal Government GSA Contract for Green Buildings Initiative

Award to provide Enterprise Network Services for 1,200 buildings nationwide

LITTLE ROCK, ARK. - Windstream (NASDAQ: WIN), a leading provider of advanced network and cloud communications, announced today that it has been awarded a nine-year, multi-million dollar contract by the General Services Administration (GSA) as part of the Public Building Service green buildings initiative. The GSA, the government’s largest civilian landlord, leads the way in green building design, construction, retrofitting and sustainable operations and maintenance.

This contract builds on Windstream’s existing relationship with the GSA, a federal procurement and property management agency created to improve government efficiency and help federal agencies better serve the public. With this newest contract, Windstream has the opportunity to provide its leading telecommunications and technology solutions to more than 1,200 GSA-owned buildings, properties and agencies, including the Department of Justice/U.S. Attorneys, the Department of Labor, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Social Security offices.

“We have a long history of providing the customized solutions required by federal agencies to operate efficiently and securely” said Mike Magliato, Windstream's vice president of government sales and solutions. “We are excited to continue our strong relationship with the GSA and contribute to its ongoing initiatives for sustainable design and green building management.”

Since 2005, Windstream and its subsidiaries have been serving governmental entities, including the National Weather Service; the U.S. Department of Defense; the Defense and Information Systems Agency; the Federal Aviation Administration; the U.S. Department of Treasury; the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs; the U.S. Army, Air Force and Navy; U.S. Federal Courts; the Department of Homeland Security and the GSA.
