Windstream awarded for excellence in unified communications

Company recognized with Internet Telephony’s Product of the Year Award for its IP Simple solution

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Windstream (Nasdaq: WIN), a leading provider of advanced network communications, announced today that its IP Simple unified communications solution was named the 2012 INTERNET TELEPHONY Product of the Year by global integrated media company TMC.

Windstream IP Simple is a managed unified communications solution designed for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). It combines an award-winning business phone system from Allworx—a Windstream company—with Windstream’s VoIP and data solutions for a complete end-to-end result. Windstream’s IP Simple solution gives business customers an affordable monthly package accessing the latest technology, without the need for capital investment in equipment.

“Windstream’s IP Simple solution eliminates the need to combine services from different providers and equipment manufacturers,” said Don Perkins, Windstream senior vice president of Business Marketing. “That means our customers receive more efficient installation and comprehensive support from a single provider.”

“I am happy to grant Windstream with the Product of the Year Award. The editors of INTERNET TELEPHONY have verified that the IP Simple solutions display quality and innovation while addressing real needs in the marketplace,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. “I would like to congratulate the entire team at Windstream for their commitment to advancing IP communication technologies, and we look forward to future innovations.”

The 2012 Product of the Year winners will be published in the January/February 2013 issue. INTERNET TELEPHONY has been the authority in IP communication since 1998™.
