Windstream to Host Students, Teachers, Families for Bojangles Pole Night at Lowe’s Motor Speedway

Company Donates 2,500 Pole Night Tickets to Western Union Elementary School

MATTHEWS, N.C., October 13, 2009 - Windstream Corp. (NYSE: WIN), a phone, broadband and digital TV provider, announced that it will host 2,500 students, teachers and families from Western Union Elementary School at the upcoming Bojangles Pole Night qualifier for the NASCAR Banking 500 only from Bank of America on Thursday, Oct. 15 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. The event starts at 7 p.m.

“Windstream places great importance on being neighborly and supporting the communities we serve,” said Stacy Hale, vice president of Windstream operations for the Carolinas. “This donation is a symbol of our thanks to teachers, students and their families for the hard work they do and excellence they have achieved.”

Windstream’s Green Truck Tour also will be on display at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. The tour is designed to give back to the local communities that Windstream serves while educating the public about landline safety. The Green Truck Tour, which promotes Windstream’s phone, broadband and digital TV products and services, concludes in October after logging more than 50,000 miles in 16 states and donating more than $250,000 to local communities and organizations.
