Windstream to ring The Opening Bell

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Jeff Gardner, president and CEO of Windstream Corporation (NYSE: WIN), will lead a group of executives and employees to ring The Opening Bellsm at the New York Stock Exchange tomorrow, July 19.

Windstream common stock began trading on the NYSE today under the symbol WIN. The company is a member of the S&P 500 index.

"Windstream is proud to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange along with the nation’s top publicly traded companies," Gardner said. "It is a privilege for our team to ring the bell as we celebrate the start of our new company."

Windstream began operating yesterday after completing the spinoff of Alltel's landline business and merger with VALOR CommunicationsGroup, Inc., creating the largest telecommunications and entertainment services provider focused on serving rural America.
