Windstream awarded federal government GSA local services acquisition contract for Region 4
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Windstream (NASDAQ: WIN), a leading provider of advanced network communications, has been awarded a 10-year, multi-million dollar contract from the General Services Administration (GSA) of the U.S. Federal Government to provide voice, Internet, data, and converged services to GSA’s Region 4. Known as the “Sunbelt Region,” Region 4 includes the southeastern states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

Windstream urges rural health care providers to apply for USAC telecommunications and Internet service discounts
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Each year, the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) makes available $400 million in funding through the Rural Health Care (RHC) program, to be used for telecommunications and Internet services for health care providers located in rural areas. However, according to USAC, only $81 million was granted in 2011, due in large part to a lack of program awareness. Windstream (Nasdaq: WIN), a leading provider of advanced network communications, urges rural health care providers to apply for RHC funding in order to take advantage of discounts on telecommunications and Internet services.
